Fall Travel Program

The Travel Program is for players age 8 through 13.  In the Travel Program, Westbrook teams play against other local towns and are registered in the Soccer Maine Fall Classic League.  The Travel Program builds upon the basics taught in Recreation to continue with the basics and teach fundamentals, positioning, and more advanced techniques.

The age breakdown is as follows:

Time Commitment

Generally, practices start early August and are held twice a week through late October.  Once the rosters are finalized, coaches will contact parents regarding the practice schedule and location. Team communication and scheduling will typically be handled through the Game Changer App.  We recommend downloading the app and creating an account using the same email address you used to register your child.

The Fall Classic League games are scheduled by Soccer Maine on the weekends (typically Sundays). Most of our opponents are from nearby towns within an hour drive, but there is the potential to play against teams further away. Additionally, coaches can schedule a few friendly games with other towns. Soccer Maine will post schedules on the Fall Classic League webpage but it is then up to the home team to schedule the time and location.

Every year, all WSC travel teams participate in a tournament during Indigenous Peoples' weekend in early October (typically in Sanford or Gray October 12-14, 2024).  In addition, the non-competitive teams (U-9 through U-11) will participate in a festival at the end of the season and the competitive teams (U-12 through U-14) will participate in playoffs. Schedules and locations will be coordinated by Soccer Maine and emailed to the teams during the season but can tend to be released close to the event.
